Prior to beginning job as a CNA, pupils are typically needed to complete a physical exam that certifies they are physically fit sufficient to execute the duties of a nursing assistant. Furthermore, trainees will need to pass a TB test and show evidence of existing booster shots before functioning with people.


The majority of states require nursing assistants to undertake a criminal history check prior to beginning work. Some schools or states will spend for these background examine part of the trainees, and in other cases fingerprinting and background checks cost the students around $20-$40. Each state requires nursing assistants pass a certification test in order to start working.


In addition to tuition some colleges may charge added program charges, such as technology charges, lab fees or application charges.
